About Monina

I (she/her/siyá) am a queer, Asian (Filipinx) immigrant therapist (LPCC.0020948) with a passion for serving the QTBIPOC community.

I grew up in the Philippines and spent most of my childhood and adolescence in Florida. I believe in the power of having a therapist that is representative of the populations they aim to serve - this serves as my why.

In my free time, I love to read, write, admire the mountains/sky, and explore local coffee shops & bookstores! I also adore time spent with my loved ones, including my friends, partner, and cats (you can find them on my website somewhere!)

Land Acknowledgement

I acknowledge that we are gathered on the ancestral and contemporary lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, Arapaho, Apache, Comanche, and the 48 contemporary tribal nations who have inhabited and cared for this region for countless generations. I pay my respects to their elders past, present, and emerging and express my gratitude for their profound and enduring connection to this land. I also acknowledge the historic and ongoing injustices, including forced removals, genocide, and dispossession that continue to impact Indigenous communities in Colorado and beyond. I honor the resilience and strength of Indigenous peoples who continue to maintain their cultural traditions and languages as well as the ongoing struggle for justice, sovereignty, and cultural revitalization; I stand with the Land Back movement.

I also acknowledge the labor of enslaved Africans and their descendants who worked this stolen land for the colonists, and who continue to disproportionately face economic oppression, racism, violence, and exploitation.
